Joshua Forrester Field
Joshua Forrester Field brings a unique combination of campaign, government, litigation, and philanthropic experiences to ForresterField. After over 15 years serving as a Public Defender or in the campaign and policy worlds, Josh is excited to apply an unexpected interest and education in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to the legal profession.
Josh began his professional career in Sen Barbara Boxer’s press office in the days when junior comms staffers cut daily news clips by hand.
After his time on the Hill, Josh took to political campaigns, working on six, including work on both of President Obama’s campaigns and the '16 Hillary for America Campaign, where he oversaw the largest voter protection operation in Pennsylvania election history. Josh served as an on-the-record spokesperson in five different senior communication roles
Josh also managed the Fair Census Project, an innovative campaign that embedded randomized controlled experiments into the campaign as it was running, enabling his team to make informed strategic adjustments that resulted in demonstrated improved

In addition to his campaign experience, Josh’s programmatic and policy experience includes managing the Legal Progress program at the Center for American Progress and helping develop and grow progressive issue campaigns at the Wyss Foundation.
He served in the Obama Administration as the Peace Corps Press Director.
As a trial attorney, Josh litigated more than 1200 cases for indigent clients with a sucess rate greater than 80 percent on trial confirmed cases, demonstrating a determined ability to get his clients what they needed on both trial—and appellate-level criminal law cases as a proud public defender and at the Innocence Project Northwest.
Josh is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law and the George Washington University and serves on a select technology taskforce of the Washington State Bar Association and is a member of that organization and the California Bar Association and spends too much time rooting for the A's, 9ers, and West Ham United.
